Architect's Journal Small Projects Award 2022
This build demonstrates how a self-build project can achieve low-embodied carbon with difficult site conditions. The project is built from locally sourced materials and utilises solar energy and a local spring. The building is raised-up on oak stilts to gain views of the surrounding landscape, whilst seeking cover from the trees from the harsh weather conditions.
All the lighting was designed bespoke by Louis Jobst specifically for the interior space. A natural pallet of materials including raw plaster, tadelakt and oak provide a warm and simple interior space.

A Victorian extension refurb project in Forest Gate. The kitchen was designed specifically low level to make it feel less utilitarian and more like a living space or dining room. We used Walnut and marble to provide a mid-century feel. Display shelving and banquette seating were designed as a single unit and to match the kitchen which provides a homogenous feel throughout.
